5 Pictures at the finish
Last week I recorded my 3rd best ever 10k time of 32.58 at Stirling so on a harder & windier course today something in the low 33′s would have been good.

I started pretty ambitiously chasing Dave Simpson(Corstorphine) and Matt Bell (CoE) where I had them in my sights for the first half of the way, I had company from this guy in the picture, who I have only really seen doing this race and nothing else in the running calendar.
He was pretty annoying, he sat on my shoulder the whole way round allowing me a break away at 7k where I managed to get a 10 metre gap for a couple of K’s, I thought to myself without looking round, I would be in the clear, how wrong could you be, at the 9k marker here he appears again flying up beside me.
Trying to concentrate on my own game plan, saying to myself just over 3 minute until your home, get him to work to stay with you. Got round the 2nd last corner on to the road a wee incline 200metres to go still I have a gap, then left left into the final 100metres, when the above happened, a blooming sprint finish which I thought I could have won with me in front but it wasn’t to be pipped me 10 metres from the line.
East Neuk results
Looking back at it I was disappointed not winning the sprint, the best man won that, however the positives were, that I ran hard from the start and felt ok, to be 10seconds outside last weeks 3rd best ever time shows consistency and a high standard for me so I’m planning on doing Strathcarron next Sunday with the start of the Cross Countries the following week at Presonpans then Aviemore half with a weeks holiday after that.
