Ran 17.09 this morning at Edinburgh’s 5k Time Park Run Iain ran 17.13 last week and his target has been to run under the 17min’s.

Iain started Carnegie Harriers over 10years ago to accomadate runners for all ages and abilities from Fife and the surrounding areas, he has worked endlessly for his club and this cause with his weekly Bulletins to his members, advertising of the club nationally and internationally, bringing new people into the club. Club membership bring out must more than just running, I have travelled all over the country and saw so many different things that if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have enjoyed my running as half as much as I do now.

The club today goes from strength to strength with an annual member of over 160. It was Iain who approached me when I moved from Glasgow to Dunfermline in 2002 to come and try the Harriers, were glad we did as it changed our families lives in Fife,  from meeting so many fantastic and talented people of all ages ans as stated before travelling to places that you never knew existed. 

The Harriers train every Tuesday and Thursday’s at 6.20pm from the Academy of Sport. To find the link click my maps!!!!

Session this morning:

• 5 min Warm up,
• 10min running broken into two groups.
• wee rest 1min
• broke 16 into 2 teams of 8(1 fast 1 not so fast)
• do the course opposite way for 5 mins everybosy together
• wee rest, water stop 1 min then
• last 15 mins
• everybody goes, the fastest pairing continues for another lap
• when they return your partner does a lap

Pretty low key, a week off racing which is a welcome break managed a wee 4 miler last night, was planning on going out this afternoon but just received a call from a good friend in need of some treatment so the run can wait.

Maryann keen on going out with www.carnegie-harriers.co.uk on their Recce of Leg 1 of the Devils Burdens tomorrow so I shall get out later on in the day.

Planning on going out tonight Maryann and myself to We Will Rock at the Playhouse in Edinburgh with Gail Murdoch, Stevie King, Helena Sim, Simon & Lynne Kuz……this is all dependant on  Isla who is teathing.

All was going well until I got into the room to try out the music system on Friday night, Power was on but no laser operating on any of the 3 Discs. Poked Converner Adrian for his wee system which worked a treat!

Session was the same as we done on Monday where I thought it was easier than we have done previously. Good wee work out for the abs!

Had an appointment with a runner at 8pm for an hour and a half!

Saturday morning, was a funny one, weather predicted to be terrible, it wasn’t really……… in fact it was raining while setting up at 9.10am but when the session got under way the weather couldn’t have been better!

It was fresh, a really fresh breeze the sun came out a few times and the rain stayed off, the tide was in which was very tempting to get the obstacles in there to make the course even more interesting…..I didn’t but maybe one sunny warm morning when the tide is coming in we might just try it, unless there is very strong opposition.

Anyway got the course sorted out with a new section up and down next to the wooden bridge which sits near the 2 big poles, the 2 poles were also being well used as these are steapest gradients on the beach head, so we were up them a few times on each lap. Good session

This afternoon away for domestic shopping back then away for some training, the first since Sunday…had a good well earned rest.

Tonight a smallish class expected at 6pm at Camdean anybody that is interested in coming are more than welcome.

Tomorrow at the beach session, (10am Aberdour’s Silver Sands) 3-4 normal regulars are missing due to commitments so we have half a dozen proposed I hope to see some more or hear from anyone who is interested in coming to get in contact! There is rain predicted tomorrow but I hope that doesn’t put you off! Hear from you soon!

Thurs 12th Nov, Saw me up at Townhill Primary, it was a good sunny morning, was busy doing Active Kids Activites for the P1′s until 12 o’clock. Back home for lunch then over to Wellwood for another Session with a smaller number of P1′s until 3pm.

Back home and relaxed at home with the family in between doing Paper and Computer work. A few appointments from 8-11pm then off to bed.

Friday morning had an appt at 9am then continuing with Paper and Computer work.
