Training today

I must be honest with myself, I’m finding the motivation to run roads at the moments nearly impossible.  Had made a note of interest to Gail and Steve that I would maybe come out on Saturday for a long four hour run, however coming nearer to H Hour that was becoming increasing unworkable, reason, well going back to Thursday night I was monging it”army word for unmotivated” during the day inbetween Massage appointments the weather was rubbish so I decided that again in between appointments I would go down for the session which was 5x5mins with 2min recovery, a good turnout at the Carnegie harriers, I had a good session being pushed along by Scott Bradley.

Friday, I went out in the evening for 30mins on the road, everything was hurting, calf, IT Bands, Hamstrings and Gluts were screaming, I phoned my Massage Therapist in Saline at 9am on the Friday morning asking if I could go over and see him as I would be free in the afternoon, just my luck he text me at 5pm saying he had just received my text and that he could have done it that afternoon but not Saturday, so I go into the Scottish Vets National relay Champs unmassaged so I need to rely on my www.thestick.com to massage out my niggles.

Today Saturday at noon I went out and done the Loch Fitty Cross country route, which is in two weeks time.  This is a great wee route to do: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-kingdom/fife/848863591037 it’s quite an easy route to find yourself to do but you may need some help if it’s the first time you plan on doing it.

Not really looking forward to tomorrow’s race, don’t know what leg out of the four I’m doing start time 11am, need to recce the rout beforehand, need to leave Dunfemline around 8.30-9am

Great wee class last night Friday at Queenshall.

16 Circuiteers proposed to come along last night, a few had to cancel due to traffic and work with only Stevie Greer missing in action with communication, we finally got 16 for the night which was probably near the best attendance on a Friday night for a long long time.

Due to the Matted sessions being very popular I set this up again, I think Circuiteers like it as no one gets away with anything.  This was the case last night where a few ab exercises were administered.

Hope you have a good weekend see you soon!

Classes back on next week as normal details, timings, locations and prices are on the Circuit Class information page!

Tommy’s Training Tues 13th

Ran 7miles on the road at 4.45pm yesterday the first road run this year, and I must confess I was bored and unmotivated.  I shall need to to a day on day off from road to off road or else I’m going to lose all will to run on the road.

To be a good runner in my book is to be good at the things that you think your not so good at that’s where a trainer or coach comes in. When you train yourself it’s easy to do the same thing over and over again.

On top of that done an hour of so of Salsa and Jive dancing last night, Maryann lasted longer than me!  Sorry no pictures, thank goodness!

Maryann and I try Salsa Dancing

Although Maryann is not feeling very well, we have said to friends that we would come along and see whats involved in the Salsa Dance Class tonight at the Halfway Hotel, Kingseat from 7-10pm.  Men get the first two weeks free, it’s tough being a man.

We thought we would try and improve for the next Christmas Dance, (Private joke with the Running Club)

Training today

John, heading back up East Lomond again from the West PB020190

East Lomond(South Side)                      John Fulham

Done 15k’s over the Devil’s Burden Relay route from the Village Hall in Falkland to East Lomond at first light, the wind was blowing, the rain was coming as hard as the wind, so a lot of layers were put on by John in the car park to be taken off in the woods below the Hill, a head wind into the climb was the last thing you needed however we got to the top to be battered with Hail Stones, so a quick desend using the wolly hat as a peak to keep the elements outs, showed Bernt and John the line that I have proven coming down, then we cracked on to the Limekilns, down to the finish of leg 1 turned back and retraced our steps, the weather was not to bad at all, back up to the Summit of East for a second then watching John falling all about the place coming down the other side to the car was pretty humourous, a couple of walkers braved the elements when we were coming down.

All in all John and Bernt I believe learned a lot about the route and I wish them well for the race in two weeks when they partner each other.
