Looking Back, Looking Forward! Remember only 12 weeks to Xmas

More Circuiteers more Visits

Out of the 5 classes we had in Sept we had 62 visits by 50 separate Circuiteers which was 1 more visit than last month, with the introduction of Andrew, John, Louis and Tina from Charlestown, the Circuiteer membership has increased to 50 people which is a most we have had ever.

More Local Participation

Next Week see’s potentially another hand full of Limekiln and Charlestown locals making their debut, Penny Hicks and Catharine Idle to name but two with five others that I’ve been told.  I would like to thank Shona Anderson the Key holder for the Queenshall for accommating myself and the Classes, we all hope to have a long term venue at the Queens as the feedback has been positive from you so far!

Monday’s Classes, 2 Classes again 5.45, new time of 7pm.

Please note that although our numbers look full at 17 for both classes on Monday don’t be put off if you wish to bring a friend as we can probably accomadate up to 20 this week both the classes.  If we have two big classes on Monday I may revert back to three classes the following week, this shall be dependant from the numbers from that night. I shall be ready to place people back into three classes on Monday, I shall need to be Mega-Organised….and pigs shall fly!

Sincere apologises to Annie Henderson and Iain Cormack who turned up for Monday’s later class this was my fault and I hope it never repeats again, sorry!

Spaces available on Wednesday night coming!

Wednesday, we have a few places left especially in the second class and Friday which saw 15 including Maryann, this could increase to 20 by Thursday next week, so looking for a record breaker week next week!

Top Attenders Award/Friday’s Pictures uploaded

An update of Septembers Attendance and Proposed Circuiteers that are planning on coming next week have been uploaded onto the Circuit Class Confirmation Page!

A very well done to Stevie King for winning the mens top attender for September.  He managed 10 out of a possible 12 visits to the classes, Stevie who missed last night’s session due to a 3 and a half hour running commitment today Saturday is a worthy winner. He has also supported the classes for years like others, you  know who you are, Stevie is hardworking at the classes and someone who everybody know’s can be relied upon, well done Stevie, a quick well done mention to Gerry Seydak and Paul McPherson who came in joint 2nd with 8 visits and who again fall into the same category as Stevie, reliable and consistant!

In the ladies, Hazel Williamson and close friend Susan Mathieson who were leading the charge during the first two weeks of the month, especially with coming to regular beach sessions helped their cause.  Staying next to Aberdour Beach does help they do confess, however the last few weeks the girls have had major work commitments which have saw their frequency slip……..that brought the four ladies down to two, Melissa O’Gorman who never was a top attender in the past, a regular attender it has to be said, has kept up her frequency even come the odd Wed where she normally has another commitment. She shares 8 visits with New Recruit Annie Henderson who recently left a gym last month, like this many other gym members she was bored due to the lack of service and Personability of staff.  She missed a few Wednesday’s due to a regular family commitment however like Melissa has done really well with her general frequecy the rest of the week/month hence the position the both find themself in, well done.

Scottish 100k or 62.5mile Champion Gail Murdoch who has had a fantastic running year this year has on top of running 3 long endurance events back to back during the summer including breaking her own target of completing the 95 miles West Highland Way in one go within 1 day, has recently reached a potential Commonwealth position in running just over 9 hours a few weeks ago at the Perth 100k. She is now on the road to recovery to take on the Amsterdam Marathon in a few weeks, she has just took in a 3 classes this week which is a maximum attendance this week to be 1 visit behind both Melissa and Annie, I think though a wee bit too late as I know Annie and Melissa are planning on coming on Monday which is the final class day for September! I’m sure Gail shall be in the running next month!

A Special Mention to Lynne Kuz, who like Gail ran in an event a few weeks ago, however slightly longer, 15 hours on top of Gail’s 9 hours, covering 125 miles which was 3 miles shorther than the Scottish record of 128 which was broken again by the same person to 130miles the same day, that person Pauline Walker only stays a few streets away from the Camdean Community Centre! The race was a 24 hour event where you keep on going for as long as you can in 1 day! Unbelivable!

Well Done to the achievers! The prize £25 Voucher for Massage/Personal Training for themselves or for a friend.  Gift Vouchers can be given out to your family or friends as a Birthday and or Christmas gift!

Well Done to Circuiteers,Claire Howie, Barry Davie and new recruit John Fulham

Well Done to Claire Howie running the 3 mile Carnegie Time Trail running race last night. She clocked 19mins 47 secs follow by Endurance Supremo and Scottish 100k champion Gail Murdoch.

A personal best was set by Barry Davie by over 20 secs breaking him 17 min barrier, well done to him, with a great run and Personal best from John Fulham in preparation for his Toronto half marathon next month.  It really shows that Circuit Training does help and work!

Great first night at Queenshall, Charlestown.

9 and 12 in both classes last night, Queenshall seems to be a great hall with plenty of scope. I shall be updating the attendance sheet tonight, Stevie King can’t lose the men’s however Paul McPherson can still catch him if Stevie dosn’t come along on Monday night!

In the females, Susan Mathieson was unable to make it last night which leaves Melissa O’Gorman and New Girl Annie Henderson in the driving seat with Friday and Monday to go!

Full update tonight!

Tomorrow night Let me know if your coming along 6pm The Queenshall have 10 at the moment!

Tonight was the last Friday at Camdean!

Checking through my stats on your attendance after Friday night, has saw a few moves.  Firstly it was great to see Campbell Logan back on the planet "Circuit" we had not seen him all of September and apart from Malcolm Weir was the only person who we hadn’t seen, so good to see you Campbell, next with one more previous visit was co worker with Campbell Ricky Connelly who had been away for a few weeks, we saw him Mon then tonight.

Claire Howie who through no fault of her own was delayed for the start of Wednesday’s beach class due to public transport getting home from work, but still motivating herself to come down and see what was going on, has nonetheless moved up from joint 2nd lady with 4 out of a possible 9 visits, joint leading ladies Hazel Williamson, close friend Susan Mathieson, Melissa O’Gorman and newly promoted up to that spot after coming along tonight Annie Henderson.

On the mens side Both Gerry Seydak and Paul McPherson moved up to 6 visits and got a step closer to current leader Stevie King’s 8 visits. Stevie had a 100%record until tonight which he could afford to being 3 visits in front of everybody.  Paul and Gerry into 2nd automatically and by themselves!

Your attendance is a big issue with me, and thereafore as previously mentioned I have a prize of 1 complimentary session with myself both for the top male and female attender!

Last Beach session finds a beautiful calm night to finish with!

Final Session At Silver Sands(Thanks for your Support, all who have attended! Between last weeks endurance athletes Gail Murdoch & Lynne Kuz with husband Simon undoubtedly out of action this week, and a number of other regulars on holiday or injured saw a depleted 9 people at the beach session tonight. Nevertheless tonight plan was quality and not quantity of what they were going to be asked to do. A few Pictures have been uploaded with a group photo as a last reminder of the midweek beach sessions! The session would be a hard 1-2 minute circuit round the sand dunes of an undulating Silver Sands beach which a lot of you have had a greater knowledge of now than what you had 6 weeks ago. The session…as I said quality rather than quantity…………..whatever time you managed during your effort say 90 seconds would be your recovery, give or take a few seconds. Duration 40 minutes in total. Mostly everyone who turned up were runners so the quality was naturally pretty high anyway! The two stars of the night were regular Stevie King who powered round the course in an average of 70 secs, Stevie has been to every session this month 8 out of 8 he shall miss Friday due to a sunny holiday in Spain and Gordon Birse who stayed with Stevie the majority of the way even managed an extra effort on the last interval! Next was Barry Davie averaging 78seconds per lap then Peter Humphries 82 secs, Jamie Garvie 86secs, next was first time on the beach sessions Darren with 92secs, Maryann 94 with Alison 1 min 45secs finally Stevie MacKenzie. As far as attendance goes which I’m offering a Complimentary Session for both top Male and Female, as you shall see if you check the Circuit Class confirmation page, then go to sheet 2 on the spreadsheet, you shall see Stevie King with 3 visits more than the second placed guys with 4 sessions to go, he shall miss Friday so some guys may close the gap slightly if we see you Friday. Barry and Darren attendance tonight got them from third place into second, Stevie MacKenzie, Jamie and Peter Humphries moved up from fourth to third so again well done and thanks for coming! In the ladies Hazel, Susan and Mellissa are joint top with no ladies making an impression on their leads. It was good to see both Gordon and Alison making their first appreance in September. Class on at Camdean Community Centre on Friday at 6pm please let me know if you plan to come as this may affect the layout and structure of the class! Taking names for next Monday’s Classes at Camdean 5.45, 6.40 and 7.35 classes Need to know which of the two Classes you wish to come to at the Queenshall, Charlestown, 5.30 or 6.45!
