Tuesday News Update

Circuit Class last night.

5.30 class was attended by Ian Murray, Stewart Ollis, Barry Davie, Ryan McKenzie, John McIlduff, Irene Fentimen, Malcolm Weir and Ian Johnstone, I think Susan has frightened all the woman away.

The 6.45 class saw a good few harriers and well as regulars: Lynne Kuz, Helena Sim, Stevie King, Stevie Greer, Francis Cameron, David, Sue Mathieson, Elaine Birse, Gerry Seydak, Pete Mitchell, Claire HOwie, Lynn Lillywhite, Ricky and Stuart Connelly, Kate McKinnon, Angela Sharp and finally Maryann!  So full capacity was 20 so we just made with 17, great to see you all last night.  The class was pretty hard to take especially the first one due the fond memories we had there of our great late friend George Murdoch!

Please note that there is a Memorial Race for George in two weeks time, Tinto on Saturday the 10th November!

Good to see you all I shall try to update the site daily!

If you would like to attend a class please put a comment in or feel free to email!

Classes on Wednesday 5.30 & 6.45 and Friday 5.30.

News Update Sunday 21st October 2007

Tribute to a brilliant Man!

 george.jpg

George Murdoch who sadly died last Thursday evening.

George’s funeral will take place at 11.30am on Thursday morning (25th October) at Dunfermline Crematorium.  Gail has asked for those attending not to wear black ties as the service will be a celebration of George’s life.

Here are a few pictures of George doing what he always loved most,  running and being with his family and friends.

He shall be very, very sadly missed!

I met George when I joined Carnegie Harriers three years ago.  Both Maryann and I like everyone else in our club loved both George and Gail as they treated everyone like a friend, like the motto of Carnegie Harriers(The Friendly Club) can be summed up with George’s character.

I alongside others had the privilege to spend some quality time with George both at social and running functions.  George even started to come along to the Circuit Classes in the early summer doing his traditional thing of being the first person ready to do battle at the Circuits, which never changed when we moved 3 months ago to Step UP!

He done a ton of work for Carnegie Harriers, taking pictures, organising Hill Training sessions organising the Carnegie Hill Race a few months ago and taking on the roll of Hill Captain being a committee member to name but a few.

To the tons of people who knew him we are very much the worst off today for his absence but continue in our faith to carry on what he would have wanted us to do and that is get out and enjoy your time of your life by training, competing and enjoying what your body can do in the hills and on the road!

We shall miss you loads!!!!!!!!!!!George our very dear friend!!!!!!!!!
