Tommy’s Tales Wed 18th Feb

After watching Isla till midday, Maryann’s mum came up from Glasgow to take over so I could get away to do my 3 normal tasks for that day.  The major difference today, I couldn’t run the 13miles so cycle it would have to be, in normal traditional Tommy style, I left everything to the last minute, the mountain bike had a puncture…….tried blowing it up, straight back down, had to walk the bike to the Bike shop to buy 2 inner tubes from The Bike Shop  it was on my way to the school plus I still managed to get to Dunfermline High at 1pm to take the teacher from their Wed lunch time training.

A brilliant sunny day a bit fresh, left the teachers at 1.45 fixed my tyre in 2minutes which was a first then I had nice leisurly cycle across to Oakley saw Morna Fleming out on the roads, arrived 30mins earlier than normal so treated myself to a cuppa in the staff room, Inzievar were having a High Level school Inspection so I made sure we had an extra special presentation for the kids for their After schools activites.  All went well there.

Left there at 4.15 cycled over to Charlestown, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than running, it’s maybe because of the limited time and tiredness setting in on a Wed due to the turn arounds, anyway got in to Queenshall set up and was ready for 5.30pm a first for Tommy great to be orgainised Maryann brought over the Class Mats and music system all ready to go!

After the class I had to get organised as I had a 9pm appt, thanks to John Fulham for your recommendation!

Tommy’s Tales Sunday

Got back from Forress at 8pm Saturday night, Allan Fotheringham drove all the way back, managed to stay awake for all of the journey just couln’t say the same for Jeff Farqhar(Pitreavie).  Don’t know why I came back so early soon as I got in Maryann feel asleep.

Results were up from the Masters race so downloaded and printed them off.

Sunday up at 8am, ready and away to Church with all the family from 9-10 then we travelled over to Gorebridge/Bonnybridge to look at a House we have Provisionally Reserved(The Northcombe,Taylor Wimpey house which we have previously bought twice before) which is located half way between our current house in Dunfermline and the Tesco’s, Dulloch Park.  The aim was to look at the layout of the house to see the layout of the rooms and to see if it suited our needs.  Mixed views.

Drove back to Ikea middaywe had something to eat bought a few things for our house to brighten it up a it back in 3ish then went over to Homebase about 5 to do the same got back in around 6pm tidied up, tea at 7.30pm, no training today.

So much for giving you advice if I know use it myself.

On a previous post saying not to bring your car down to the beach, this is the reason why……..Climbing Ropes, Towing Eyes, Land Rovers well doen to Tony and Sue who listened to me maybe I used listen to me………..

PC090054 PC090053

Got three quarters of the way up the steep hill and the car starting skidding, then it started sliding luckily the small verve you can see on the left hand side stopped up from going arse over tit into the bushes, at one spot I was for reversing the car onto the beach then onto the Grass to avoid that hill, until Simon got the Manual out and found out where the towing eye was.

Then with the help of a local who turned up in his Land Rover 4×4 who was taking his wife down to feed Deer he hauled us up the hill with Simon Kuz’s fancy knots and Steve’s braun to push and guide the car up the banking thanks to everybody, needless to say I wasn’t my wife’s favourite person……funny that.

Running Exploits today

A full week of looking after Precious(6month old Isla)she’s a wee sweat-heart and believe it or not I’m loving looking after her more than I thought, the amount of feedback that you get from your baby of 6 months is unbelievable….anyway, things are running smoothly on the Home front, Maryann has survived her first full week back in nearly 7 months.

Got the boys back from school

Lewis just can't help but kick something Cameron Lewis in the background

Tommy Tales Today/Tasks tomorrow

Maryann(My good lady) went back to work today after 6 months of Maternity, a bit of a shock to the system however it was going to happen sooner or later……Myself and the boys have been a bit under the weather with sore throats etc so we decided to keep them off school then we shall see how they are tomorrow , I was working from my Massage room on the computer chasing up and sending emails etc for most of the day trying to get into my new sheet system which is taking a bit of getting used to.

Yasmin away into work and at 3.45 Maryann came back from her’s. All went pretty well…..

Signed myself up and Simon for the Carnethy 5 Hill Race, last year it took 2 days to fill the 550 places today well you probably had guessed it, 17hours now fully booked, there is now a waiting list, unbelievable isn’t it.

Anyway never seemed to get through what I was planning to do today, however at 4pm needed to get away to run, plan was go round Calais Muir Woods next to Tesco Dulloch Park but the temptation would be to come in early so I ran the 2 miles down to Pitreavie Golf Course and done a few laps round there(round mostly the Perimeter which was pretty good going)

Details HERE

7pm Maryann, Simon Kuz and Nick West and Stevie King have ventured up to Bishops Hill don’t know how much they’ll do the snow has been on again.

Getting Ready for an appointment at 8.15pm

Classes on tomorrow 5.45pm & 7pm, I’m taking names, I have still to send out emails to the regular Circuit people advising on Standing order payments and benefits, shall try and get this done tonight!

Any feedback etc, would be glad to hear from you.

Tomorrow in with Isla most of the day 3.45pm when Maryann comes in I shall probably be running the 6 mile to Queenshall to set up I shall hopefully get a lift back as I have a Fitness Assessment to conduct at 9 at the house.

Tommy’s Tales

Knackered after yesterday’s Parlauf which is in my view one of the best speed training sessions and yesterday’s was no exception.

The past 4 days of training have been a shock to the system after all those mince pies.  Throat was sore when I woke up this morning so decided to have a longer lie then up to go to John Wanes’s(Pitreavie coach) session in the Public Park at 11.

Hill reps which were suppose to be a recovery walk and a hard 250-300 meters up, I went for a not so hard effort up and a good jog recovery down, I said to myself 65secs up 65secs down after 15 reps I was knackered keeping up the standard, after 30 mins done 6-7mins of a 10-15sec effort up a smaller hill, again I jogged back down but gave myself double time recovery.

Stats and MAP of the what & where we were HERE

A big difference weather wise from yesterday’s Blizzards to today’s Sunshine!

PC030043 PC030045 Neil McLachlan The Small Rep from the crowd to the cone PC030044

Got back had an appointment from the house from 2-4pm.

Now relaxing with the family, Maryann not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, I shall have all the kids for the full day until Maryann comes back at 4pm then were off the class down at Camdean Community Centre.

All classes return to normal this week! Let me know if you wish me to keep you a space!

Classes on tomorrow/Booking in People for Classes & Appts as normal/Next Appt Available next Mon

Maryann(my better-half) returned back to work in Edinburgh yesterday after 5 months maternity leave so it was a bit of a culture shock to be home watching the kids again after so long, our eldest Yasmin is also home from her studies from Uni.

Time is getting tight for Christmas so today my intention is  not to do any more physical hourly appointments until Monday 28th as I need to get organised dosmestically for the family.

I shall however be intending to book in appointments all the way through Christmas so don’t hesitate to get in contact, look at the appointments section, etc.

Bear in Mind both Classes are on as normal tomorrow night at 5.45 & 7pm at the Queenshall, Charlestown, if you would like to come along please feel free to let me know so I can reserve a station for you!

Tommy’s Tales

Managed to lose my A4 diary last weekend so stress levels are at a higher level at the mo, I have made an improvised few sheets until the end of the year. It’s a real bugger because I rely on this for my accountancy requirements to check who’s came in and what been paid which I transfer into my annual log or accountancy book, anyway moving on.

Mondays’ classes we had 13 & 11 a bit less than our 15 & 16 the previous week, Wed we had 16 & 5 bring us up to 45 so far.

Sorry I’ve been out of sorts the last couple of days working hard with Active kids especially a Wednesday’s at the moment for the past 4 weeks and the next 4 weeks are 12hour shifts which included a 45min run somewhere in the day.

Wednesday I was at Masterton Primary until midday then over to Limekilns from 1.45 to 3pm then up to my weekly after schools club at Oakley for an hour then over to Charlestown for 2 sessions.

Today Thursday, over to Touch Primary for the morning dealing with 50 P1’s Active kids pursuits until midday then after a wee trip up the road for lunch with Maryann and Isla(wife & daughter) then over to Pittencrieff Primary with Active Kids again, 4.30pm  Maryann went out for a run with Nick West and Simon Kuz, for me after dropping off and picking up Cameron from Guitar lessons I had a wee go at the clubs 4×5min session down at Dunfermline’s Careshare building normally called at the club the pan handal just slightly tweaked which was better.

Great wee session! Knackered now hope to get back to normality tomorrow.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s night Class at Camdean however I only have a handful of names and the same for Saturday so come on get organised get in contact get yourself to the sessions!

Tommy’s Tales

Friday night was  great to see 10 people at the class, brought our tally of Circuiteers to 60 for the week, done our Core, Shoulder 45min set which I plan to change slightly for tomorrow’s classes Mon 5th Oct!

Friday night, night off to relax watch TV with the crew.

Saturday morning, up and away setting up the Beach with Peter Morrison, it was his first time I had saw him running in years and on his 40th birthday!  Met up with Martin McNellis at 9.30am on the beach and they helped me set up the session.

The session was different to everything we had done, as we mostly use the beach Vertically however we used it Horizontally this time, at one stage we ran out of rope which was a first, but I didn’t like the area that was not marked so I modified the course when the guys were running to have them running in a controlled cordoned area.

10 hardy sould turned up with Christine Mysecroft alongside Peter who were brand new faces to the session, all pictures are located on a slightly earlier post!

Saturday afternoon was very windy and I had an appointment back at the house at 1230 which went well, then it was time to get into the town for some shopping. Boys needed new Football stuff so it was off to JJB where we spent a small fortune on new outfits and shoes for them, there worth it, especially when you see their faces!

Saturday night out to Townhill’s Village Inn to celebrate Peter Morrison’s 40th Birthday, back in at 2 then up at 8 for Church drop off and off to Denny for the Starthcarron 10k came in 4th slightly better than last week 34.36 5.34min miles 4th place details here.

Got back started to get the results from the guys at the Marathon and we were out at the back garden me and the better half planting and tidying things up there. Then it’s 10pm and another weekend is over!

My training yesterday Thur 1st Oct

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/14942477

Plan was to do 4×9mins which would take me round the Park twice, four times with a 3min recovery, very very hard session for me but managed it.

Unfortunately today Friday I had been working from 9 until 1pm then went out for lunch with my good lady until 3pm, I was still knackered/tired got in and had a nap woke up at 4.30pm too late to do anything decent so relaxed and got ready for the Class!
