Getting back on track! Thanks to everybody for their support.

Thanks for everybody who has been in touch and has been helping me with my current situation.  People close to me are probably aware how intense our young family is, I love my family but as close friends know us, know how much tension there has been in the last few years between myself and Maryann.  This came to a head last week with a hugh argument over nothing specific and everything in general.

We had two options, one to continue the same way that we had being going and probably come to the same conclusion in a few weeks or part company. Which I have done, the short term everything is up in the air but in the medium term I feel this is best for the kids to be in a happy home with a father who can come and visit and mother was is happier with the kids in the home environment.

Can I say that I do have feelings for someone else but there is where it stays, I’m married and so is the other person, who knows what shall happen in the future, all I know is that I wasn’t happy, haven’t been for a while. I hope with this separation although tough for the family I hope we can come out stronger and happier, at the moment it doesn’t feel that way.  But sometimes you need to be cruel to be kind.

There has been a lot of negativity flying about, people shouting off theirs mouths etc, I shall be judged on my own merits hopefully not on weak peoples comments, I ‘ll be judged on me, on my history and I hope not for my recent decision to leave.  If I am, well that’s other peoples problem not mine.

I’m still a loving dad who has the most Beautiful & Adoring Kids in the world, and although hard, we shall be all re-united again soon, albeit not as a family unit but as a happier one.

I’m still the same Tommy, I’m keen to get back to work! And I’m keen to get back to so called normality, but more importantly I want to be happy with myself.

I hope you understand. I’m a very emotional person with a lot of love to give, I just have not been able to give it, I hope maybe in the future this shall change however what shall happens, happens.

Tommy

Fife leisure trust plans £900,000 investment

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust (FSLT) has announced plans to invest £900,000 in upgrading facilities and services across its portfolio of 13 venues over the next 12 months. The trust is to spend £390,000 on the installation of new Technogym equipment for Duloch and Carnegie centres, following a similar project at seven other gyms carried out in 2010.

Meanwhile, further investment is planned in the development of programmes across the 13 facilities; IT upgrades; and new self-service terminals at Carnegie Leisure Centre.

Fife Council head of leisure and cultural services Grant Ward said: “We welcome this significant investment from Fife Sports and Leisure Trust into new fitness equipment, facility improvements and activity programmes.”

FSLT chief executive Ed Watson added: “The surplus funds have been made thanks to our success in the first years of trading reinforced with a prudent financial strategy.”

Good Luck to Last Weeks Scottish 6 Stage Winners Shettleston Harriers as they take on the English

?Full Article from Scottish Athletics

mens team

Following hot on the heels of the Scottish (6 & 4) Stage Road Relay Championships, are the English National (12 & 6) Stage Road Relays.

The Shettleston Harrier’s website describes the this fixture as “the ultimate test of a club’s endurance credentials”. This sums up perfectly how challenging this event is for all clubs and competitors, not least for Shettleston who will need to be on top of their game to surpass the brilliant 4th in 2009 and the fantastic 3rd in 2010. The club were relative underdogs in those events but they are now recognised at GB level as being genuine medal contenders, a measure of how far the club have progressed in only a few years. With the expectation levels among the wider athletics community now raised, the question is; will the Shettleston athletes rise to the challenge of being a real threat to the English top flight?

For those of you who remember the previous YLC events, you will remember that the event has grown to be an integral part of our youth volunteering and leadership programme, with 140 athletics leaders having benefitted from the experience over the last three years.

No Training since last Saturday no Racing this weekend! Hope to start back tomorrow!

I have contacted the Club’s Road Running Captain to confirm that I have pulled out of the National Road relay’s on Sunday which Carnegie hold the Scottish Mens Vets title.

After running 22miles last Saturday & working all day Sunday at Scottish Athletics 100k Event in Perth, maybe never helped however after packing up the class on Monday night, I’ve been under the weather with Flu like symptoms.

After Wednesday’s Circuit Class we felt a bit better but still unable to train.  So I’ve sent my apologies and  wished the boys all the very best..

Best Wishes to everybody else for the Relay’s, and everybody who is either training or racing this weekend.
